The Huffington Post

Last week I was contacted by a photo editor from the Huffington Post Media Group and asked to blog for the Huffington Post. I think it’s a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to sharing articles on a variety of subjects with a wide audience. On Monday I posted my first blog for the Huffington Post titled “Simplicity in Compositions”. Please check it out and share it with others via Google+, facebook, twitter etc. The Huffington Post has share links right there beside the articles so it’s as easy as a mouse click.

The blog posts here have been scarce of late for a variety of reasons but I hope to remedy that in the days and weeks ahead. I truly appreciate my readers who check in daily for new posts and I haven’t given you many recently so I apologize.

I’m compiling a list of blog post ideas for my weekly contributions to the Huffington Post so please if you have a subject you think I should write about feel free to email me or leave a comment below.

Happy Monday everyone!

The great Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson wrote in his excellent book Photography and the Art of Seeing - “Seeing, in the finest and broadest sense, means using your senses, you intellect, and your emotions. It means encountering your subject matter with your whole being. It means looking beyond the labels of things and discovering the remarkable world around you.”

I remember truly enjoying the beauty that was in front of me when I photographed the scene below. I felt a wonderful sense of peace and calmness. Hopefully you the viewer, through my photograph, experience a bit of what I felt that day.
